Taking a look at these groups, it seems to me the incoherence OP perceives is largely a result of mashing up different groups. The focus of group one is on smashing a bunch of cunnus, while groups two and (especially) three are especially likely to pine for some chaste virginal young thing.
(of course all men [if they are men] want a young, fertile wife who hasn't been with many men, if any; and the male urge is to freely procreate with attractive women. On that level, the OP's observation is no surprise. But I do think it's helpful to split the dedicated relations thread threaders into groups, so as to illustrate individuals aren't really trying to pledge allegiance to two contrary mistresses - or have a wife and keep a harem, as it were). |

I should say, more generally, most people who are stuck in loops will find their way out of them, one way or the other. "growth" often appears sharp and discontinuous because the rut has to groove until conditions are just right to break out of it.
I believe the PCT therapy (MOL) people are on to something when they posit that many psychological "problems" are caused by conflicts between two separate control systems.
This explains the poasting dynamics we see here. Say there's a low sexual investment system (control perception and hence action so you nut in many women) and a high sexual investment system (bust nut in one woman who is a virgin then mate-guard and raise kids). If in conflict, the dominant schema could commission lengthy screeds in its defense, all the while warding off the attempts of the other system to take control.
The result of all this is that the person's mind and community is focused on the problem, such that, with proper conditions, they can find some new compromise that does not disturb the person. But of course some dreidls will spin for quite a while before they wobble. |

If you don't believe how bad it is, just find a fake picture of an average looking woman-- not a model, just a random girl on instagram who looks okay-- and use it to make a fake facebook/tinder. "You" will instantly have as many matches as you want to have, ranging from Chads trying to hook up with you to nerds trying to talk to you about your interests. That is the reality for any girl: Sex and intimacy are constantly available on demand. There simply is no equivalent on demand access for men, because the women disproportionately choose the men with the same few attributes (hence 20% of men having 80% of the sex).
Despite XO's doom and gloom, modern life is good in a lot of ways. But if you're at the bottom of the dating market, then it may be time to think about what your life looks like if you never have a long-term romantic partner. In theory you could find somebody at any time, but in reality there's at least a decent chance it will never happen for you. And even if it's theoretically possible, you might want to give some thought on whether you'd prefer a life alone. |
