i'm not sure she's right or not. either way, it pisses me off and makes it harder to clean and makes a bigger, nastier mess on more shit -- worth it to clean as you go even if it makes the cooking take an extra 5-10 mins overall.
i usually sous chef and do the intermediate cleaning. |

During the 8 mins it takes water to come to a boil she will stand still or screw around on her phone or who knows what rather than doing a quick pick-up, emptying dishwasher, etc. She's too many years removed from biglaw.
I think it's faster - at least throw the stuff in the sink or soak the stuff that will turn into cement. Either way it's lame to be faced with an hour of clean-up after a nice, homemade meal when there's work, sex, or sleeping that you want to be doing. |
