My guess is that the manager said things in a way that wasn't too friendly. I've seen how people tend to interact with black dudes when in situations like this....it's the opposite of how they'd approach a white woman doing the same thing. It's much more forceful and direct.

Two black guys, young, not hoodratty, ask for the toilet code in the starbucks. they are told then need to buy something. They don't. This alerts manager that they have no intention of spending money.
They then sit down and fiddle with their phones. at this point, they are told they cant just sit here they have to buy something. they say they are waiting for a friend. presumably a significant period of time is taking place, long enough for them to have been placed under arrest --when friend comes in.
So, the kids just have no manners and are poorly raised. if they want to meet they should meet in a mall or something where you don't have to buy anything.
They should have left. technically they were breaking the law. While I feel sympathetic to them to some degree, its good to communicate how the world doesn't work by shuffles and loungeaboutism |
