Date: April 18th, 2018 11:34 PM Author: Geriatric national therapy The justification of tenure in academia is to enable researchers to be able to focus their studies (and publish their findings) for the betterment of the citizens, without needing to fear losing their jobs out due to doing politically incorrect research or finding politically incorrect results.
That justification wouldn't extend to the freedom to be mean spirited in their personal life.
(Of course, the specific tenure rules at that college might differ.) |
