The Starbucks arrests shouldn't be trivialized.

Date: April 19th, 2018 9:15 AM Author: exciting hominid These guys came in the Starbucks, they asked to use the bathroom, which they were denied bc they weren't paying customers (this is a common restriction). They then waited at a table to meet a friend without buying something. Why was this worthy of summoning the police?
Additionally, after the men were arrested (for doing nothing), they were detained for 8 hours. The law enforcement even called for back up. This was for a few men, sitting at a coffee table. Treated a certain way by store employees and then by police.
Would it have happened if they were three blonde white girls? Hmmm.
My thing is, conservatives should and could step in here and make the most potent argument we have against bias or racism: it is completely illogical to judge someone based simply on their skin color. It doesn't make any rational sense - full stop. It's a meaningless biological attribute that has nothing to do with who a person is or how they behave.
Seems to me this whole kerfuffle could have been easily avoided. Starbucks is correct to point this out and make an action towards resolving it. |

"I can tell you candidly these officers did a service they were called to do," Ross said.
The police commissioner also accused the men of being disrespectful to the officers and said that both were given several chances to leave, but they refused. |

Here's my question: If you're a guy (of any race), then you've had the experience of women being afraid of you at night in a parking lot or whatever, for no other reason than you being a guy. People also trust you less with children. This has nothing to do with you individually, it's solely because men commit a vastly disproportionate amount of rape and child molestation.
This doesn't really bother me and I would never call out a woman for her alleged bigotry over these beliefs. She's making a rational calculation based on who commits crime.
