These people will probably pick your pockets as they convince you to get a 2 year extended warranty that includes replacement parts, tire change, and a free car wash!

Warranties make sense on complex expensive cars like AMG Benzes and 7 series BMWs and nothing else but 70-85% of the people getting those cars lease and dont give a shit anyway. The lease rate with the 7 series is something crazy like 78%. Nobody but billionaires actually pays all cash for one.

Given that all dealerships do is relocate cars from the factory to a lot, I don’t think it’s shocking they have low margins and make up for it through financing and service. But thank you for this PSA.

The competition between dealers likely results in lower prices than were you to go through manufacturers with perfect inventory control. Dealers overstocking keeps prices lower.
