Bitcoin has been lagging alts. Bitcoin is also the only crypto with a futures market that lets institutional money trade on their hostility toward crypto. Coincidence? Perhaps, but all my money is currently sitting in bitcoin. So this has me thinking
Btc spot prices will probably always > futures prices because institutions can only trade futures and they’re generally (understandably) hostile to bitcoin. They're all dying to tell their lps how they made a killing shorting the fuck out of this bubble 5 years from now
When futures get far enough below the spot price, you can arbitrage by shorting the spot market and buying the future until the two converge. I can see why this dynamic could drive down btc relatively to other alts. Better price discovery isn’t great if most people think your asset is worth less than a pile of dogshit
Thoughts? Is there a consensus view on what futures are doing to btc if anything. Gracias

random violent fluctuations of a thinly traded asset don't prove anyone right or wrong tbh.
timing a market like this is impossibly hard. i was literally a millionaire last december on paper. i'd love to see the actual cash people end up with from crypto as a % of their portfolios' all time high. I'd bet it'd be under 5%
also there are maybe 3-4 people on earth that meet my profile and id rather not be irl ruined if possible
