Rate my plan for paying for kids' college

2) In addition, pay (25-x)/25 of the remaining cost, where x = USNews ranking.
For example, I'd pay 100% of 47k for Princeton, since its #1 (technically #0 with this scheme).
Or, for Northwestern, which is #11 and costs 52k, I'd pay 15k + (52-15)*(25-10)/25 = 37k

Shouldn't be too hard to structure that favorably if you plan well in advance. |
