Not sure I'm the person to ask since I just did OK in college, but being organized and working on problems. I liked how math didn't require too much memorization. Also I did applied math (not theoretical), which is easier. I think a lot of people are bad at math b/c they can't organize thoughts or steps.

As a kid my parents (both did STEM in college) gave me number theory problems to work on for fun - which lets you think in different ways outside of the normal schooling context. That's the kind of problems you see on the AMC. It just helps your brain to think in a different way and creatively. Schools will never teach you to think creatively about math - so working on different types of problems in your free time exercise your brain.

Never did engineering - I think they have a lot of lab work and hands on work, esp in EE. Engineering is prob more work at the undergrad level tbh.

Engineers don't have to take that much math - usually maybe only up to Linear Algebra/Dif Eq and Multivariable. Most people have already taken Calc BC if they are an engineer/math major, so they prob just take 2 more classes in college. Some might take statistics too.

I think they have a lot of lab work and weird circuit shit if they do EE - they actually have to solder stuff in the labs. If they do CS as well then they learn programming languages in addition to the EE work. Although my friends who did EECS who ended up in software taught themselves a lot of programming language.

Friend did Bio E with the intent on going to med school....very odd b/c I think it screwed up her GPA big time for MD admissions. Would have just made more sense to do pure bio for that GPA bump.

why don't fucking MBA schools give credit for taking hard undergrad? 2.0 engineering is probably more work than 3.8 in marketing.
