He is granted a corner of the property to have a trailer and lives rent free. When the family dies or they sell he gets deeded his trailer and 10 acres so long as he stays in their employ. Realistically the owners rarely come and use the property so he mostly just hangs out and chills. Drinks and smokes. Rides the owner's four-wheeler around the country roads or up to a nearby lake resort to drink beers sometimes. Can go boating on the lake whenever he wants. Even has a woman who loves him for his trailer and shares his love of beer and cigarettes. His only job duties are to make sure the place is looked after, ward off trespassers and poachers, and keep the driveway plowed in winter.
Dude has done this for the last 40+ years. Recently the owner sold the place and he came into the 10 acres free and clear and fulfilled his destiny.
