Just compare mid-career income of college vs high school graduates.
Individuals with "some college" make less than high school grads...they are likely failures of character. There are many cool high school grads going straight into plumbing.
But, indeed, you compare two groups who, according to reason, have their lives in order (favoring college grads) and compare their income, debt, etc. The people making less over the time period net debts and opportunity loss from being in college for four years = x.
