Date: April 26th, 2018 8:12 PM Author: fragrant range i had a co-worker with a son on the freshman football team. the kid wanted to play QB, but was like 5th on the depth chart and the coach had him working out at other positions. his mom explained the scenario to me but didn't reveal it was her son she was talking about. in the end, she asked if i thought that the coach should be giving him reps at QB.
i told her that he's the coach and if the kid is better suited for other positions and is clearly behind 4 other kids for QB, his time is better spent elsewhere. also said that high school was beyond the time for "everyone gets a turn" ways of coaching/playing. but if the kid was hellbent on QB, he should ask the coach what his weaknesses are and work hard on his own to improve, but it wasn't her place.
monday morning rolls around and i asked her how the game went over the weekend. she tells me that she knew the coach would be at the varsity game to watch/show support so she went to the game to confront him.

coach basically told her to fuck off and that this didn't make the kid look very good in his eyes.
she was going to run it up the chain within the school, at least according to her. |
