Tornado drills were more intense
Between tornado and fire drills, you ended up feeling indoctrinated with this fear that it was really likely that a disaster would in fact end up pwning you at some point

One time a tornado was supposedly close and they herded as many of us as possible into the boiler room for hours
I don't think there was any tornado damage from that storm. It was a bit of mindfuck... we were in this dingy industrial room for a long-ass time, convinced that all hell was breaking loose outside. Then when they finally let us out of the boiler room, it was bright and sunny outside
