ndidate ... for the candidates own protection?

The campaign of the candidate of the sitting POTUS's own party provided false information from foreign sources regarding the opposing candidate, and the law enforcement agencies used their power to intimidate and investigate any and all past dealings of members of the opposing campaign ... why?

The news media cheered on / explained away / covered up this fact ... for ratings?

Good Lord, the Dems/MSM are corrupt as FUCK.

To be fair,

Depends on the party of the outgoing/incoming administrations, but otherwise yes.

and if it was for the protection of Trump, why did they not just meet with his campaign and warn him?

Obama was only trying to protect/help Trump. Why can't you see this?

paying Trump back for personally protecting the legitimacy of Obama's presidency when he closed out the birther controversy.

when the dems thought this was all about to be exposed last week, they leaked all of the details about the spy to the NYT and WaPo right before attending a meeting with Nunes and Gowdy where they would also "leak" the spy's identity. they were going to run with the story that the GOP congress exposed a classified intelligence source. but then Nunes cancelled the meeting at the last second and the articles about Halper still went out.

To be fair,

WaPo: "Nunes' 'troubling pattern' of 'canceling' meetings with high-ranking Democratic officials; is it legal?"
