Coke isn’t really “addictive”. If you just exercise some willl and refrain from doing it, the cravings go away in a couple weeks. |

i had a couple friends who said they were going to quit smoking when their child was born. they now have multiple children and still smoke.
good luck to you, though. i would think it would be pretty damaging as a kid to discover your dad is a coke addict.
do stories about long-time coke users dying from cardiac scarring scare you? like john entwistle dying in a hotel room at 57 a few hours after doing coke because it triggered a heart attack? |

yea, i sometimes think about the long term effects, brej. i'll have to go back to being a very occasional user (once, twice a year) after this upcoming break. usually the supply source disappears after a while - we've had this one since about october, which is long as fuck. he will get busted/quit selling eventually though. |

i went to an AA meeting once and there was a guy who was struggling horribly with his coke cravings. talking about how he could taste it, etc. always stuck with me. but i have no experience with it so i admittedly am anything but an expert when it comes to coke. the parkinsons and heart scarring stories scare me enough. |

nothing like opiates.
as far as the heart scarring, i feel like you have to be a HEAVY user for a long, long time without much of a break in use for that kind of damage to happen. who knows, maybe i'm wrong. |
