CR Thinkpad: X1C, T480 or T480S ?

Everyone raves about the X1 Carbon, and the 480S seems like a reasonable middle ground, but I keep gravitating toward the regular 480 because even though I don't necessarily need all the power, it seems hard to pass up. Is the X1C just so amazing in use/feel that it doesn't matter that $ vs. $ I'd be trading off tech specs for it?
480 Pros
- Keyboard is the best - At most 1.5lbs heavier (doesn't seem like much to me), but has just a bit more interior real estate for better cooling + every port imaginable so I'm never in a situation where I need to think about bringing adapters. - Can be purchased w/ single 16GB chip + open slot if I ever want to upgrade to 32GB - dGPU. The 480S offers this, but the MX150 is crippled in that unit compared to the 480.
X1C Pros - Smallest / lightest / I think absolute highest tier build quality - Can be had with the Dolby Vision / 500nit screen
Regardless of model, will be ordering with the top end i7 (1.9Ghz / 4.2Ghz), WQHD screen and 512 SSD.

Just flipped a MacBook Pro I picked up (made $100!) as soon as I read about the keyboard class action; I can't fuck around taking chances with a flaky keyboard; literally one of the most basic things that has to work 100% for me.
I only use Linux via USB, have 1 image that routes everything through TOR if I need to do things anonymously, and another with Kali if I need to fuck around scanning / testing. |

I generally use the trackpad (480 apparently has a more reliable one than 480S which oddly uses a different brand), but having the nipple mouse is sometimes a nice option. The ONLY option I didn't get was the WWAN you are mentioning, which I assume is just enabling a SIM card / data service? I usually use Xfinity (free), Boingo (free w/ Amex), or just tether to my iPhone for connectivity. Do you see WWAN as really being something useful or necessary?
