Have job offer from less prestigious company for slightly higher salary. Advice?

It fucking blows, it's the most toxic place I've ever worked and I really want to walk out ASAP with my middle finger high in the air. But if I do that now or any time soon, obviously it doesn't go on my resume.
I've been applying/interviewing for the past month and just got an offer from a large but lesser-known company for about 10% better salary. Job is basically the same and commute is much better.
Do I jump on this now or endure this shithole for at least a year? |

now here's a TWIST: i've been obviously disgruntled at current shitjob and my boss clearly wants me to leave.
without getting into a long vomit of trivial details explaining why, take my word for it that i expect to be handed a totally fictional "performance improvement plan" on Friday, July 13
my understanding is that when one gets such a document, there is an option to opt out and leave more or less immediately with a big fat severance package. (obviously this is what they want you to do.)
this new job is pushing me really hard to start on Monday, July 16 if not earlier.
I want dat severance, but also don't want to drag this out for a few more weeks - and what if this shitbureaucracy i'm in now just doesn't get around to drawing up the PiP or something by the 16th? I'll have to quit with 0 days notice which I guess would be kind of 180 but my beta wagecuck instincts get scared thinking about that.
so the 2 things i need to work on in parallel are hinting to my boss that i'll gladly take the PiP ahead of the projected date for it, and pushing back the start date of new jerb. am worried if i'm too forward or obvious with boss he'll figure out i have a new jerb and yank the severance.
any more advice friends? |
