Harvard is already sued and will probably lose, meaning they broke the law in discriminating against Asians whose ACT and SAT were way higher than admitted blacks and Hispanics. Now schools want to get rid of standardized testing so there’s no verifiable metric with a paper trail that will lead to lawsuits in the future.

They argue it’s to level the playing field since richmos can get tutoring for their kids. I call flame. Richmos also have the luxury of getting their kids internships and other extra curricular, have someone write their essays or letters of recommendation, or have their tiger moms confront teachers about getting grades raised. Poormos don’t have access to any of these advantages.
Pure intellectual horsepower is mostly genetic, it’s also the best metric for gauging career or school success. Standardized testing was introduced as a way to give access to higher education to poor people who were born smart. Not anymore I guess.

Date: June 15th, 2018 12:37 PM Author: Azure whorehouse mood it's purely to get more blacks in without taking a hit in aggregate admissions stats. anyone not named darnell is competing against the rest of the applicants who are applying on merit. only way you can compete with them is to let yourself be evaluated fully. no reason for UChi to accept a white/asian kid who doesn't take the SAT when there will almost certainly be another white/asian kid who's identical on almost every metric except that he took the SAT and did well.
they're basically creating two separate admissions tracks. one for kids who deserve it and one for charity. |
