Are there any cheap brands I should be looking at? Some shutter company came by and quoted $15k for the whole house. I laughed. Heard of Norman shutters? They seem cheaper. Will this really add resale to my house?

Shutters are just decorative. I wouldn't go super expensive but I've never had to buy any. I mean do the $15k ones come with a warranty? Were they recommended by the window people?

Yes lifetime warranty. Window people have yet to install but I will ask them.

The other option is honeycomb shades in the whole house except these pesky trapezoid windows in our bedroom that we'll need to shutter. That will be much, much cheaper.

I live a a hurricane prone area so shutters are a big deal. You can find tradesmen who specialize in these things who can do it for a reasonable price, $500 per window is what I was quoted. I didn't do it because my father-in-law is a former GC and he can do it himself, we just haven't gotten around to building them.
