No it doesn’t. We already use cloud computing and if anything it requires more devs.

explain it should make it easy as fuck to set up and deploy apps. you need almost 0 knowledge of server shit outside of calls that will engage with your app.

Setting up and deploying apps is now its own development layer, with entire divisions (DevOps) using programming concepts to automate build and deploy processes

my understanding of this is very limited but didnt this have to be built before? or before this existed in the code before but inside your server? like you send requests directly to a server that has shit ready to handle them. now requests get routed to a cloud which then routes them to your server space on the cloud? I thought that they made this shit very easy, are building the tools to make it very easy to deal with requests and all of the setting up a server, dealing with volume of requests, checking requests for sql injections etc is now already prebuilt.

no response needed just link if you prefer

Cloud makes some things easier but it also increases complexity especially if you’re a large organization scaling out massive resources. Like, from a front end “dev” perspective they just push a button and launch a virtual instance that acts as a server, but behind all that you have guys writing infrastructure as code that automates all of the provisioning and other intricacies required to make it compatible. Services like AWS or GCP don’t actually do all of that work for you, they just provide the resources.

Companies like Google have created entirely new careers out of this: https://landing.google.com/sre/interview/ben-treynor.html

my intro to this is an hr long azure video. not at all familiar with AWS or GCP.

seems like azure is looking to make this a pug and play thing.

then again wtf do i know.

appreciate the time and knowledge brother

Azure is cool, and theoretically you could have a small company with one or two devs who just use it to launch their apps. But it would have to be built from the ground up for that paradigm with SLAs and everything. And once the company grows, forget it. There’s so much shit that goes wrong daily in IT and development, lol at some soyboy Berkeley grad being expected to keep up with it and lol at relying on the Indian support staff of a 3rd party company.

Cloud computing eliminates people that maintain infrastructure, not devs.
