they don't typically make that much. I represent a number of hospitals on the east coast with unionized nurses and they typically make $35-50 an hour. they do well, but $200k is unusual.
having said that, in each bargaining unit, there's usually a handful of senior nurses who have figured out the system and work a bunch of overtime/premium shifts and can get into the high $100s/$200k range.
friend of mine from hs was telling me a couple years ago that his wife was about to graduate from a nursing program "and will be making more than you soon" (at the time I was making around $250k). I was like sure thing breh.
