Duffer Bros seem acutely aware of this with respect to Stranger Things which is why theyve gone on record that the show will not extend beyond S4 / S5, regardless of how much success it has. Under the Dome is an example of the opposite version of this thinking--that was a packaged story that AMC tried to run out for as long as possible and everything suffered because of it. While both "Taboo" ("T1") and "The Terror" ("T2") are period pieces, T1 seems to be oriented toward the sub-genres of crime thriller, drama and, to a lesser extent, mystery. Whereas T2 is, to the best of our estimation, oriented toward the sub-genres of survival, horror, and the supernatural. We therefore do not believe the two series are sufficiently alike to merit an affirmative response to your inquiry. As a follow-up action item to this analysis, we would suggest that you view T2. Note that this is an informal position of the Firm and does not constitute a letter of comfort or an otherwise actionable piece of guidance.
