FUCK BMW SCAM "ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE"

Date: June 28th, 2018 3:20 PM Author: Appetizing Library Dopamine So I took my car in to get serviced last month, one of the things I complained about was a slow leak based on the tire warning. They found no problem and refilled the tire.
One month later, tire is going flat. Apparently there is a nail they missed.
So I call roadside assistance and they are incapable of patching a tire, but they are happy to tow me to the dealership service center of my choice.
Once at the dealership, the service center wants to sell me a new tire for $400. Fuck that shit. I ask them to just patch it - but for whatever reason they refuse to patch tires.
So I call roadside assistance and ask them if they can tow my car to pep boys instead. Yes for $200.
I am going to have to go to the dealership and roll my fucking flat tire to pep boys to get it patched to avoid spending $400. Probably waste 3 hours doing this.
I fucking hate this scam where it is impossible to fucking fix a tire. |

Every male who owns a car should keep a tire plug kit on hand. They are very easy to use and inevitably will save you a significant amount of time and money. I have used this kit to plug 40+ tires and have never had an issue:

However, several other kits are acceptable. Just make sure the tools have large, steal handles. Depending on the hole in your tire, you may need to exert a significant amount of pressure on the tool to push the plug in. You can easily fuck up your hand or wrist with a cheap tool. |

There’s a separate wheel and tire package you could buy. In LA with all the potholes, it is often worth it when each tire costs $400. Also not sure if they still use run flats but tire places wouldn’t patch run flats when I had mine. I ended up replacing all 4 tires with regular tires. 2. The rope style patches are a cheap and easy fix. I can pull and plug a nail in under 5mins and my handy compressor will fill the tire in a minute (the cheap ones suck but I have a mighty max of something that blows like a Catholic sorority girl). I don’t run them long term, however. You need pliers in the car to do a fix, however.
3. Not clear pep boys will even patch a Z rated tire. Only indy shops will in my experience.
4. Most dealers match tire rack prices on tires around me.
5. I have a spare set of wheels and tires for my Pcar to deal with the issue of flats on an as needed basis as no one, but the dealer (and even that is uncertain) will have cup 2 Michelins on the shelf. |

Not only was my tire fucked, but the coolant sensor was broken because it did not let the tech know that that coolant was empty. I had to convince him to open the fucking hood and of course it was empty.
Then I drive the car to pep boys and get into an argument with the fucker there who thinks my tire is a run flat. I end up having to put him on the phone with the BMW guy and listen to them argue about whether its a run flat or not.
Finally the pep boys guy said - fuck it I will patch it. Now waiting for him so I can bird back there and get my car.
Also some Chinese kid stole my fucking bird the second I parked in front of my house so I need to find another one.
Fuck this shit day. |
