so you have this office dork. he does nothing except sit in his chair, sit in his car, sit on his couch, lay in bed - his muscles atrophying, his nervous system decaying, every part of his body in suspended animation as if he existed inside of a protective shell set to zero gravity. this is what goes on, except for ONE HOUR every other day, in which he devotes this time to performing an explosive compound exercise that not only is extremely taxing on the primary muscle groups, but relies on the flexibility and coordination of all his ancillary muscle groups firing in tandem. so you have this inert blob, a totally useless deadweight, and for one hour each day he's supposed to push himself to the max in performing raw animalistic movement patterns using iron-weighted apparatuses that even his ancestral superiors would consider it cruelly harsh to budge.
yeah, sure sounds like a recipe for long-term health and fitness! and not like a surefire pathway to injury. this is a reminder for you dorks that this is what the meathead "lifters" here and elsewhere are advocating for when they recommend that the average dude should just go out there and deadlift 200-400 lb after work.

Lifting is actually extremely important for office drones. Sitting for 12+ hours a day can degrade your posture and lead to severe back problems. The posterior chain needs to be exercised to prevent anterior pelvic tilt.
