FMA...
"Melancholy, the subject of our present discourse, is either in disposition or in habit. In disposition, is that transitory Melancholy which goes and comes upon every small occasion of sorrow, need, sickness, trouble, fear, grief, passion, or perturbation of the mind, any manner of care, discontent, or thought, which causes anguish, dulness, heaviness and vexation of spirit, any ways opposite to pleasure, mirth, joy, delight, causing forwardness in us, or a dislike. In which equivocal and improper sense, we call him melancholy, that is dull, sad, sour, lumpish, ill-disposed, solitary, any way moved, or displeased. And from these melancholy dispositions no man living is free, no Stoic, none so wise, none so happy, none so patient, so generous, so godly, so divine, that can vindicate himself; so well-composed, but more or less, some time or other, he feels the smart of it. Melancholy in this sense is the character of Mortality... This Melancholy of which we are to treat, is a habit, a serious ailment, a settled humour, as Aurelianus and others call it, not errant, but fixed: and as it was long increasing, so, now being (pleasant or painful) grown to a habit, it will hardly be removed. "

I’m nowhere close to being truly happy, but have made recent improvements.
One is to spend a lot less time here, as this place is very negative and toxic. It’s only when you spend a couple days away and come back that you really see it. It’s just a bad habit for me so I come back, but really try to limit it.
The second is to be more religious. It really is TCR. I spent 6 hours with some evangelical friends a while ago, and have been getting more into it. I really like it. Best part is they reject this fraud pope in favor of the scriptures. I also listen to Joel Osteen everyday and LOVE him. He’s portrayed as a charlatan in the (((media))), but he preaches one of the most positive messages I’ve ever heard. Seriously recommend listening to 10 minutes of him with an open mind.

Don't take on $150k debt to go to law school.
To put it in simple xo terms: don't become a debtcuck in order to become a wagecuck for the rest of your life. It's the greatest duping in the history of the world, to get an entire generation of Americans to willfully become lifelong debt slaves. It's one of the greatest tragedies to ever befall this country. And where were the religious leaders? Where were the popes? Where were the priests? Where were the preachers? Why weren't they WARNING us?
Dr. E. Michael Jones is the only one out there banging the drum, sounding the alarm on usury. He's providing the intellectual rhetoric for the people to combat the vile filth being spewed from the usury factories (universities).
Case in point, watch him eviscerate this balding English faggot:

Ok, I watched the whole thing. Which is 20 more minutes than Autistic Chad (the other guy in this subthread) ever listened to Joel Osteen.
These two people are not compliments or analogues; they aren't in the same sphere. This video was fine, but all political. It seems like Jones basically advocates the populist/nationalist agenda, which of course I agree with.
But he's neither here nor there in relation to Osteen. Here is a sample Osteen video I found simply by googling "Joel Osteen." I only listened to 30 sec, but it has his trademark AMAZING style and message. Try listening to at least 10 minutes of it, and you will see how right I am - and how wrong the arrogant fools who tear down a scarecrow of him without ever having heard him speak - are.

This is what I'm in the middle of reading, and really enjoy it:
https://www.amazon.com/Foundations-Christian-Master-Reference-Collection-ebook/dp/B00ASISYQ6
I consider it, along with the scriptures, as the necessary theology base to internalize. As far as I'm concerned, the presence of the fraud pope alone is enough to fatally shoot down Catholicism. Every time I think he can't get any worse, he manages to one-up himself. But on a fundamental level, I reject the whole concept of God speaking through a man (each new pope). I think it's just bullshit.
If I could listen to your recommendations in the car, I'd give them a shot. Otherwise, Joel Osteen wins all my time. People seem to misunderstand my love for his message as wholeheartedly embracing the Prosperity Gospel. He's just so positive and great to listen to.

so much of life is horribly depressing.
getting older is terrible.
watching others get older and die is terrible.
having to wagecuck your life away is terrible.
now add in all of the technology that is actually ruining our lives.
i was thinking about that last one today.
i will go to work. my outlook email will keep pinging work that demands my immediate attention. all the while, the cell phone on my desk will be repeatedly buzzing from text messages from my mother or friends, demanding some kind of immediate attention. (the ones from my mother will be a string of 8-12 because she's usually describing in excruciatingly depressing details my father's latest medical diagnosis.)
the phone will ring, from bill collectors harassing me. and also buzz from repeated emails from GC trying to get me to buy stuff (finally turned the email notification off today on my phone).
oh wait, more work assignments in my work email.
it's fucking information overload and it fries my mind. my jaw hurts from subconsciously clenching it as these indicators go off, all demanding your immediate attention.
then you come home from work, want to relax, but it's more texts buzzing.
it's exhausting. god i wished in a time where houses were further apart and you couldn't get harassed 24/7 electronically. it would take the pony express or even the post office. and for work you didn't have to accomplish tasks that needed immediate attention due to the interconnectedness of GC.
for all of the benefits of technology, we are not made for this kind of information overload.

happiness is flame. contentment is possibly achievable, but people cannot stay in a heightened state of excitement -- "happiness" or whatever you want to call it.
people have a baseline homeostatic mood, and that's what you drift toward over time.

A good spouse.
I don’t think kids are necessary even though sometimes it can add to your long term happiness.

Presumably you pick your spouse and have control over it.
You cannot pick your kids and even assuming healthy children, it brings a significant amount of stress and pain. Healthy, good relationships with children into adulthood are far from guaranteed, even if you try your hardest.
A good spouse is a good partner for life.
