I love Nebraska football.

I love the state of Nebraska.

I long for the days when the characteristics of the team we put on the field on Saturdays exemplified the characteristics of the hard working people of our state

Awaken the sleeping giant Scott

https://247sports.com/Article/National-writer-labels-Scott-Frost-with-untouchable-status-as-Nebraska-Huskers-head-coach-119728175/

Bruce Feldman of The Athletic slapped on the “sleeping giant” label for Nebraska, which goes to teams that have a chance to compete for national titles.

During a podcast mailbag segment about “sleeping giants” to win a National Championship, Feldman quickly turned the conversation to Nebraska under Frost. Feldman appeared more sold on the Huskers than his co-host, however.

“(I get asked) can Scott Frost lead them back to glory? And I say he can win Big Ten Championships,” Stewart Mandel said. “He can do everything that Wisconsin is doing. Could he get them to the point where they’re recruiting top-10 classes and have the same kind of talent (as the modern blue bloods)? When we say talent, we’re not just talking about the starting 22. The teams that are winning the national title like Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, have future pros backing up future pros. Can Nebraska get to that point? I am skeptical.”

Feldman, who recently visited with Nebraska during its spring camp, says yes

Yeah, he wants his Northwestern team to continue to periodically crank out 10 win seasons and beat Nebraska - not happening anymore little buddy

I think he can do what Wisconsin has done and surpass that to some extent. I'll admit that the 90's dynasty years are not ever coming back. However, I could see the program getting to a point where we could have a pretty good team once every 4 or 5 years when you get an experienced QB, with the right talent around him. 9-10 wins the other years.

Agreed. A better version of Wisconsin or peak Oregon is likely Nebraska's ceiling. A lot of CFB depends on having a great QB. Frost can develop QBs with the best of them and if they get an elite QB, who knows how far they could go.

“Barry Alvarez came from here and saw what worked, and he used Nebraska’s blueprint more than Nebraska has,” Frost says. “We should be able to out-recruit Wisconsin. We’re not anywhere near huge talent bases, but we’re closer to it than they are. People say Lincoln’s cold. Wisconsin is cold. Michigan is cold. Minnesota is cold. We should be the highest-rated recruiting class at least in our half [of the Big Ten] every year with the facilities we have to offer and with the tradition we have here. We don’t need the No. 1 recruiting class in the country. We just need a top-25 class every year, and we can develop it.
