Date: July 12th, 2018 4:34 PM Author: rose federal ticket booth gunner i can't really say. i do know that a lot of boarding school bros keep up HARD with their classmates. day school guys...not from what i've seen. i think catholic schools tend to be a bit more "rough house-y" if that makes sense. more prole. more working class. so the relationships are not really mediated with certain UMC social norms that i think makes for warmer relationships. just guessing. also discipline at catholic schools are a big deal so you all get whipped into line rather quickly. and, there is something to say about praying together daily even if, as a kid, it's just something you did because you had to.
even among my middle school classmates who i see A LOT (i graduated nearly 30 years ago), they also keep up with their catholic HS classmates. "Oh, my boy from Spellman." "my boys from Hayes" etc. |

Date: July 12th, 2018 5:05 PM Author: rose federal ticket booth gunner there is a camaraderie that is very hard to replicate for both sexes in the middle of hormone spurts when they are around each other. little things...like not worrying too much about how you look or what you're wearing. boys and girls act more open and honest around each other. even how the teachers talk to you is different. it's a room full of boys, it wasn't shocking to hear "will you assholes shut the fuck up for one second?" and everyone laugh it off. i imagine with girls its the same thing. the girls i know who did single sex HS (cabrini and aquinas is what i know best with catherines...all nyc) and they love their schools still and even if lib are still...ladylike.
i think that matters and is valuable. some think it's nbd and archaic. just depends. |

It's a social clique like any other, and some minor networking benefits and such like you'd get from any other form of tribalism.
Public school gives you none of that, so to the extent you think it's important, there is some long term advantage to catholic school. |

His nickname among the students, because it rhymed with his last name, was "I'm A Gay."
Anyway, he moves on to his next post and one day a package for him arrives at the friary at our school. For some reason, one of the lay staff decides to open it, and it turns out to be a bunch of foot fetish samplers and catalogs.
That's fucked up, but why was my English Literature teacher/yearbook coordinator telling me about this?

That said, I think it still produces a very similar experience, except they don't really have the wider class (in the socio-economic sense) range that you see at other schools (Xavier, Chaminade, even Fairfield Prep). |

Some things of note: -pumps out tons of proles, and of the catholic schools in my area, I’d say they were not better in getting kids into elite colleges than publics were, probably worse than the really nice public schools. -something seriously off about catholic school girls. Tons of sluts. -dioceses schools are lower tier. Stick with elite Jesuit schools. (Also go single sex high school) -they all try to pump you into nova or holy cross and other low tier catholic colleges
Below high school it was kind of ttt. |

Pre-HS, I think the education was pure trash, but it provided a sheltered almost all white environment to grow up in. My all-boys HS definitely stunted my development around girls, but had many 180 moments and relationships and provided a rigorous education structured around the classics.
