I watched the first episode of Thirtysomething, from fall 1987

Date: July 16th, 2018 7:37 PM Author: Crystalline vibrant range holy fuck; baby boomer yuppies were whiny and insufferable. it was also racier than i thought network TV would have been back then. in one episode, we had an adultery plotline, a bit of foot fetishism, we saw one of the main female characters in black panties, showing her bare back, a joke about pussy tightness after the birthing process, and a bunch of characters talking about sex and their sex lives with each other.
it also had what seemed like an absurd setup for a dramatic crisis where one of the male leads has a crisis of conscious and tells off a big client for his ad firm who wanted them to copy some other firm's ad campaign for his own product. since when did 80's yuppie advertising functionaries have ETHICS? |
