upper body - bench press

lower body - squat

lower back - deadlift

-upper back - pull ups

done and done.

how are you going to work your lower back then? im not saying deadlift maximal weights. just enough to work the lower back a bit.

can replace deadlifts with good mornings, whatever. those work the lower back as well.

thats cause they ego lift big weights. if you deadlift weights that are comfortable, you wont have problems.

u sound knowledgeable on this. ill defer to you, then. the lifts i suggest cover the basic ground though. they hit all the strength areas. teh rest of what you are talking about lies outside of basic strength. probably just as important, but thats extra work.

he's not going to be able to do pull ups, even with a band

start with bench and squat on different days, do things like bicep curls in between bench sets and tri pull-downs in between squat sets. simple work outs, won't take long, but you'll see results if you keep doing them consistently. then move onto deadlift and pull ups when you can, and start hitting more muscles individually
