Makes most sense to buy a quality $150 Brother black and white printer / scanner, and then for the RARE occasions you need to print color, buy a seperate $50 color printer that accepts 3rd party ink. |

Always get a black ink only laserjet printer with a really good and high capacity speed scanner. One with cheap ink that you don't have to change often. MAKE SURE that the printer can accept generic ink.
The color ones are bullshit. Some of them refuse to print black if you run out of another color. Ink is also more expensive, often sold in "sets" of like 4-5 colors, even if you need black. In law you rarely have to print photos very often. Like I said above, its best to just take a thumb drive to Kinkos to do photos on the cheap.
Or in the alternative, buy a cheap color one for photos, but have a primary black laser jet for everything else. |
