What are some good, obscure NES rpgs that I should try?

Let’s throw in the snes. Make sure you’ve played Lufia 2. Might be the best rpg on the system but a lot of people haven’t ever played it.
Can’t think of anything obscure on the nes. Castlevania 2 is an adventure (prob not a real rpg but there’s towns and stuff) game if somehow you’ve never played it but likely not what you’re looking for here.

Sweet Home is a survival horror RPG from Capcom that inspired Resident Evil. There is an english translation patch, I’ve been meaning to try it

the dragon warrior remakes for SNES are alot more fun to play than the original versions. they need translation but thats easy enough.
Inindo is an interesting RPG/Strategy hybrid for the SNES by KOEI. Worth a shot. Arguably Uncharted Waters: New Horizons is an RPG, with heavy simulation. Paladin's Quest for SNES also respectable from what I remember.
The NES is pretty bare unless you want to get into translated jap shit. I hear Mother (Earthbound series) is worth checking out. Pirates! is fun but not really an RPG in the traditional sense.
Ultima 3 and 4 were good.
