Former Russian Diplomat Mike McFaul stood up for the U.S. when he was our Ambassador to Russia and now Trump is trying to hand him over to Putin. We are not a country that feeds our political opponents to foreign governments

He said it was an "incredible offer", which they retardedly take to mean it is a good, desirable offer and not an unusual, almost unprecedented offer. As they do, they put the cart before the horse and their Derangement compels them to the comically, obviously wrong conclusion.

Sanders statement yesterday at the presser is what set off the alarm bells. She made clear that the White House was considering the proposal and had not rejected it. That the senate is prepared to vote on an overwhelmingly bipartisan resolution confirming that no ambassador may be handed over and questioned by a foreign power for their activities only shows how seriously people took the white house's statement yesterday.

"Handed over" is completely different from allowing Russia to ask questions

I agree people took the statement seriously. I think that's silly, though.

And to be fair, depending on what's on the table, I don't think it's the craziest idea in the world to allow questioning on US soil with certain constraints. But because Trump is involved, libs already concluded he was wrong before they gave it a moment's thought. That's the sad part.

Why wouldn't they take the statement from SHS seriously? It wasn't off the cuff at all. And yes, it's fucking insane to allow a hostile power to question a former ambassador because they don't like his politics. The State Dep't to its credit said it was ridiculous.

What's the big deal? Mueller gets to ask the accused hackers questions, and Russia gets to ask Browder (not even McFaul as far as I know) questions. Seems perfectly reasonable.

What if that's not the only reason they want to question him? You can't imagine any conditions or situations where it might be reasonable to allow him to be questioned on US soil?

No. Browder and Mcfaul are targets because of their work in bringing about the Magnitsky Act and sanctions. Working with the US government in implementing its foreign policy should never be the basis for allowing a hostile foreign power to interrogate your own people.

Hell, we don't even allow our own soldiers who commit crimes in foreign allied countries (let alone hostile areas) to be amenable to that country's jurisdiction (we usually have SOFA agreements that require jurisdiction in military courts). Fucking lol at the notion that we'll give up american personnel to questioning because meat-heads like yourself have a boner for dumb autocrats like Putin.

The offer was not to "turn over" the ambassador. Some form of questioning of Browder as part of a deal to question hackers. No extradition.
