Show picture of chicken foot to one side of brain, the verbal side.
Show picture of snowy day to the other side of the brain.
ASK person what they saw. They say "chicken" Ask person to pick a photo from a bunch of photos w other side of brain, nonverbal side--using left hand. They choose "snow shovel"
They are asked why they chose snow shovel. They On The Spot confabulate a reasonable reason--chickens shit a lot, need something to pick up shit w. When in reality they picked the snow shovel because the nonverbal portion of the brain had seen the snowy day pic earlier (which was not one of the options to pick later on but the snow shovel was).
I think consciousness is really just hallucinations after the fact to justify neurochemical responses that have nothing to do w free will per se |
