I guess I haven’t been following this page story this weekend at all No news for me at all. So the NYT has the unredacted fisa application for the past year. What have we learned about this application that makes this even more newsworthy?

the released version is heavily redacted but it shows that the application relied *to an extreme extent* on the unverified trump pissgate dossier. the signatories of the application stated under perjury that they had verified the information contained in the application.

keep in mind a title 1 FISA warrant on carter page allowed the FBI & DOJ to spy on anyone within two degrees of separation of the target. the purpose of a title 1 FISA warrant is basically to be used against terrorists to uncover their network.

Well, one implication is that all of the claims that the dodgy Steele Dossier wasn't an important part of the FISA application (which NYT happily printed) they knew to be false.

I think Sundance is saying that the FISA warrant application that was released is a copy of the application that was made on March 17, 2017. In the indictment against the Senate Staffer, it specifically says that on March 17, 2017, he received a top secret document that he then shared with that Ali Watkins reporter from the NYT. I believe this is the "connection" he's making between the two.

Also, apparently the FISA warrant was 82 pages of material. In the indictment, the Senate Staffer, James Wolf, sent 82 text messages of pictures to NYT reporter Ali Watkins, presumably each picture being a page of the FISA application.

That's quite the coincidence:

Copy of FISA application made on March 17, 2017. Application is 82 pages of material.

Senate Staffer Wolf is indicted for leaking classified info, specifically on March 17, 2017, and 82 text messages of pictures of the classified info were sent to Ali Watkins.

It is the definition of speculative, in my opinion. Just because Watkins may have received a version of the FISA application does not mean she shared it with NYT. What we know about her history indicates she actually was not entirely forthcoming with the NYT. She said nothing after her phone records were subpoena'd.

Her stories also reveal nothing I can see beyond what is in the redacted versions. So it is possible the Intel committee version was in fact heavily redacted to begin with. On the other hand, the FOIA release could simply have been redacted to match what has been publically disclosed through news articles and/or the Nunes memo.

Either way, just because the Intel committee can look at classified docs, doesn't mean the executive agencies have to give them full versions of everything. I don't understand why Ali or NYT would sit on potentially explosive information if it were damning against Trump.

The only interesting thing from the FISA application release that we didn't know is that it is the document leaked by Wolfe on March 17, 2017. It also further confirms that Senator Warner is a complete scumbag, as evidenced by him trying to setup back channel discussions with Christopher Steele on March 17.

It's plausible though.

Sundance is nothing if not speculative. TCTH is best understood as the musings of a somewhat obsessive 100-IQ guy with too much time on his hands. He's good at looking for coincidences, even though he's often off the reservation after that.

Literally a former grocer too. Odd case.
