LOLNO
Isn't it strange that Mueller--with his army of lawyers and unlimited taxpayer dollars--hasn't indicted anyone on even a single charge related to the Trump campaign allegedly colluding with the Kremlin to steal the 2016 election?
Russia conspiracy theorists love to trot out the number of indictments, but they can't explain why, in those reams of filings, there isn't one single charge related to the Trump campaign allegedly colluding with the Kremlin to steal the 2016 election. Not one. Odd, isn't it?

I'd really like to believe that if Trump really did collude with Russia to steal the election, our intelligence and law enforcement agencies and their obscenely broad powers and data collection programs would collectively be able to figure that out quickly and convincingly enough that they could get congress to impeach and remove him from power.
The fact that they haven't, and haven't even charged "small fish" on anything related, would strike me as pretty damn concerning about their competence if it weren't more likely that they are in fact on a political witch hunt and have nothing to support the allegations.
So instead we're making a huge dog and pony show indicting unprosecutable Russians for exposing democrat corruption, and Manafort on unrelated old money laundering charges or whatever, and libs pretend that Mueller is inches away from reeling in Trump himself, just as soon as someone cracks and admits the whole thing and provides evidence that has somehow remained hidden from the many agencies investigating it for years now.

I'd kind of expect investigating whether the POTUS is an actual agent of a hostile foreign power/colluded with said power to steal the presidency to be approached significantly differently than investigating a mob boss, to be fair.
A mob boss isn't in the Oval Office driving US policy.
I'd hope such an investigation to literally save the legitimacy of the country would be a little speedier, a little more efficiently, and less-reliant on flipping low level proverbial goons. That's a good strategy when you lack unprecedented spying powers, sure. I don't know how much I should apply your analogy to investigating a president for pulling off an actual coup.
Also, I'm pretty sure that when mob bosses are under investigation, there is often quite a lot of reported information that makes the case fairly convincingly despite that information not necessarily being useful in court. We don't really have that here, despite the investigation being as high profile as it gets.

Well, not exactly in the way I described... they relied heavily on the Steele dossier which they admittedly could not verify and was basically opposition research/manufactured dirt.
Did the FISA warrants end up catching team Trump red handed? No? So they got their spy warrants for everyone two degrees from Carter Page, and still can't charge anyone with anything relating to the central plot of the investigation?
And by "attack", you mean Trump criticized their abuse of spy powers while letting the investigation continue, right? Like, he could probably do a lot more to stop this if he really was hiding something and felt that the whole thing could blow up. It'd be politically damaging, but certainly not worse than actually being objectively exposed as a Russian agent.

I won't presume the earlier 2014 Manafort warrant was illegitimate, but I don't know how that relates to the allegations of Trump colluding with Russians. I guess we'll have to wait and see but you're welcome to explain. If they really found anything, I'd hope they warned Trump (or better yet, charged him)
>Who exactly did Carter Page talk to that is so critical to the investigation? I thought he was a nobody bit player who never did anything and was not involved with campaign in any meaningful way.
Not sure who he talked to, or who the people he talked to talked to. Whether he was a bit player or not, I don't like abusing FISA by getting warrants based on the shady as fuck Steele dossier, which they did re Page.
>Would it not stand to reason that the wire on Carter Page didn't result in anything useful in the investigation?
I don't think that's the standard for obtaining a warrant or using information derived from the warrant. I haven't seen anything useful from that wire re Russian collusion, but I forget things sometimes.
>How do you explain away Manafort trying to sell his access to Deripaska hours after he was brought into the campaign?
Sounds like he was perhaps a selfish person, not sure if he was colluding with Russians to steal the election. I definitely won't conclude based on that that he was aware of Russian hacks before they happened. That's a monster leap.
And fwiw, these issues with Manafort seemed to be figured out pretty quickly. Odd how it would be so much more difficult to find any compelling evidence of election stealing.

Sure, it is "conceivable", but that does not have much weight in any calculation that matters to me. If anyone can show Manafort knew about Russian hacks prior to them happening or anything close to that, it'll be a bigger deal than anything shown so far. Still, not the end of the world unless he coordinated with the campaign, imho, but a big deal.
>The fact that you would make up your mind that there's no possibility of collusion
I haven't. But I'll need some compelling evidence to believe it or want to throw out the president over it. Don't project others leaping to conclusions onto me, tyvm. Burden of proof sure as hell is not on me or Trump here.

LOL WTF? He was the campaign manager when the emails were released.
So to clarify: you're completely fine with the Mueller investigation proceeding, interviewing Trump and coming to whatever conclusions it reaches as long as those are based on the actual evidence they can use to support their findings? You don't agree with Trump and the House Intel Comm GOP that it's a witchhunt and needs to end now?

Yes, like I said, if he was doing it with people in the campaign, it's a much bigger deal than him doing it himself. Anyway, I don't think it's very plausible and not really worth discussing.
I think Mueller should run down what leads he has and wrap this shit up quick. Do I think it's a witch hunt, based more on politics and bias than probable cause? Quite likely. But, because this is of such tremendous importance, the actual legitimacy of our nation, I'm also sympathetic to it continuing despite the tree being significantly poisoned. There's a small chance they'll find something, and I'm not entirely against even bending the rules to actually prevent a coup by a hostile power.
With that said, if Mueller et all drag this shit out and come up with nothing much more than they have already, with backing from Dem congressmen alleging treason, I sincerely hope the democrats and all of Trump's enemies cheering this shit on like they've already proven their case are thoroughly shamed and disavowed by all reasonable people, forever.
