Tyler was 18 or 19, he was in rehab bc hed been arrested for dat heroin and going to rehab is one weird legal trick, apparently.

we were not allowed to have phones; Tyler had a phone and got caught having a phone. He assumed someone snitched so he came hard to the dorm prison and screamed for the snitch to reveal himself.

A lot of us were outside chilling, smoking. Tyler tore his shirt off and yelled for the snitch to "PUT YOUR FEET ON THE MOTHERFUCKING GRASS."

Big Ben was one of the few people in who had done hard time in no-bs real prison. He was about 6'5, 350 and had boxed in prison. He told Tyler, "What if it was me?" and Tyler, private school teen twink that he is, responded "THEN PUT YOUR FEET ON THE FUCKING GRASS."

luckily big Ben was not trying to prove how tough he was to Tyler, teen twink. turned out Tyler got caught bc "Tyler's iphone" came up on the wifi, no snitching involved.

brian was 40 and in rehab for the ~7th time.

he drove himself to rehab. he was fucked up and turned in 50k in cash and a shitload of drugs. upon arrival he tested positive for almost everything from shrooms to meth to weed to pills.

brian was a hero to the kids there because he was a big baller dealer.

he had gotten so clean and sober he was doing the equivalent of TED talks at national addict conferences. he had replaced drugs with dat CROSSFIT. sadly, he broke his neck doing handstand pushups when he got insanely competitive with a fellow crossfitmo his wife said was "cute."

guys would run their mouths about the few females we interacted with. somehow some of them would know personal details about a nurse or whomever (one slutty-seeming "thicc" white girl who worked there was apparently copping that bbc which some of the prole white inmates found objectionable).

it was certainly big news when the sheriffs brought in a prole "hot" 20 year old single mom. she had apparently been in the news for a high speed chase; she told me she had "19" charges against her. i have no idea what that means or whether she can count that high but she certainly was a criminal junkie.

also at one point a coalition of the willing went to Bruce, the BBC who kept shit under control, to complain that tonya (the BBC slut) was being an out of control bitch, and Bruce made her apologize to us.

1. Only older guys like me were straight-up alcoholics. The youngs were all into pills and heroin. One of the youngs asked me, "You just drank? Like, you didn't even mix alcohol and benzos?" That particular young got thrown out for getting high in the rehab.

2. I went to a place where the unions in NYC send their people: police and firefighter unions and trade unions. The cops and firefighters were chill bros. The trades guys were loud-mouthed morons who could not simply sit in silence. They had to blurt out random associations they made to anything being said. They were inevitably the ones during smoke breaks talking about their plans to get drugs when they got out.

3. The meth heads were legit destroyed for life. They were constantly twitchy and flew off the handle at people at the slightest provocation. Serious anger issues for life.

4. The counselors were pretty cool. Most of them are in recovery and they understand that rehab is a really shitty time for the patients, who are feeling guilt and shame and don't see a better time in their life ever happening. After the medical staff handles the detox, it's the counselors job to instill a daily discipline that will hopefully get carried on by each patient when they leave. Most patients don't, though.

Rehabs a joke. It's a vacation. Just lift weights and eat. Fuck 12 steps. It drills negative associations into your brain. I've been sober for almost a year off everything. I drink once or twice a year never drunk. I don't think about it nonstop or afraid of situations like rehabs try to make you. In the end it was about just being bored and seeing the futility of continuing
