XO: Successful attorneys who nevertheless hate themselves and/or their work. Also a large group of burnouts and rogues, and more recently non-lawyer Nazi HVAC repairmen. This is the most cynical (and mentally ill) group of the three.

JDU: Abject losers who went to third tier schools and slave away in the unseemly depths of shitlaw. They make $40-60k per year but lack the XO or TLS IQ so they can't shed their sunk cost fallacy in order to take more lucrative jobs as used car salesmen.

I do not feel like a failure. I was very depressed in biglaw and I really enjoy running my own business, even if it means I have to practice law (I don't like that part). If I had to continue my life answering to another person, I'd probably be suicidal. I was always entrepreneurial and felt trapped working for others. Even before law school, I had the plan of opening my own firm one day. Biglaw let me pay off my loans quicker, but while I was there, I was counting the days until my exit (I actually kept a calendar in my desk and counted down from 100 during the final 100 days).

If I could do it differently, I would have skipped law altogether and become a real estate broker. If I were to go to law school again, I would have taken a full scholarship at a T50 school instead. That's probably my only regret -- the T10 education gives me legitimacy with certain people, but otherwise, was wholly unnecessary to what I do now.
