Another chick thought British Columbia was next to Spain and that Toronto was maybe an hour drive from Vancouver. This was a well-travelled girl who had been all over the US and parts of Europe. She wove a labrynth with her iTunes password and Apple products that for years threatened to effectively limit her access to any function or new technological advances. Her Apple ID was college email. She no longer had access to the college email for any purposes. Her music and media (and some kind of root apple identification?) was stored on a 2000s era MacBook. It was not uploaded to the cloud.. She had forgotten the password to the MacBook years ago. The only iPhones she would use were those given to her from her mother, wiped and 1-2 years after release, with only the intrafamily phone number transferred. So she had no means of downloading any apps, any media, interacting with Apple in any way, solving any bug, logging in for bill pay, anything, just a bricked phone w test messages. We couldn't throw out the macbook because it had media. Couldn't get access at the Apple store without the Apple ID for the longest time. Couldn't get a new phone for the same reason because she refused to create a new one (!?). I think she could have just called Apple and sweated it out, but that would have taken time.

At some point Apple (((opened up))) their security features and you could just bypass all this by buying a new phone. This state of affairs had gone on for 4-5 years.
