But it's gotten a little out of control and trendy to act like veterans are shunned from receiving credit and are entitled to whatever they want because they served in the military. Most of them receive a heck of a lot of government benefits for their service that they decided was a worthwhile trade-off for potentially being put in danger.

But don't sit here and shit on someone for making the choice to raise their hand and sacrifice their life and time with their family to serve their country.

That is honorable. Even if their only job was being a supply SGT, it's still a sacrifice from their normal lives as a civilian, not to mention that even non-combat soldiers can be caught by a roadside bomb.

When you have an all volunteer force that is comprised of 1% of the population, they will naturally turn into a warrior class seperate and apart from the general population.

It would be much healthier if we had a large percentage serving for shorter length and only maintain a small hyper trained officer corp and senior enlisted community.
