I'm a legal exec...and HR is unilaterally moving my office. They are also cramming an extra row of desks in the middle of the bullpen so those folks are going to be stepping all over each other. My boss is now beta-cucked by a senior exec that was hired over him getting promoted, so he's throwing a temper tantrum like a child. Working in house is like being in high school. |

B) Meetings overlap all the freakin' time. You have to miss one or the other.
C) Sometimes you have something that urgently needs to get done and the stupid meeting that got scheduled is just less important. |

Effort does not translate into commissions. Even being good at it does not mean things pan out. There are tons of sales people who work really hard and put in a lot of effort but dont make the commissions. Being good at sales requires a lot of luck, connections, and ability to meet the right people at the right time.
It also requires a lot of people above you to push through things like budget. For example, a large billion dollar deal falls through because brexit happened and potential client got skittish about investing in the UK. Sales guy is working on them for years and gets $0. Some people get stuck on shitty accounts with cheap clients and other luck out and get better accounts when the higher up retired. Also management occasionally changes the commission structure to emphasize and deemphasize sales goals. There is so much politics surrounding sales targets, goals, budgets etc. Some of these guys make millions of the dollars in commissions and they’re really good at what they do, but they’re still at the mercy of a lot of BS and complain constantly about not having control. Lol at you making anywhere close to what these guys make thinking somehow sales is some promised land free of corporate bs.
