Not flame. He inherited a mess and these early struggles are to be expected. Even Saban struggled early on - there is only so much that can be done until the roster is completely turned over and players have experience in the new systems.
Frost is installing all new offensive and defensive systems and has had QBs who were making their first college starts in both games - one a true freshman who hadn’t played in 20 months and the other a walk-on. Nebraska has some extremely talented freshman - Martinez and Washington are both going to be stars - and you can see glimpses of how things will ultimately develop. Nebraska outrushed Colorado 330-45 and had 7 sacks and 14 total TFL. Troy only had 250 total yards of offense and didn’t convert on third down until the fourth quarter. When you look at how Nebraska is developing combined with a Big Ten West in disarray, you have to think the future is bright.

Alabama fans aren't the only ones treating the Louisiana-Monroe loss as a monumental event. Coach Nick Saban described the humbling defeat in almost
apocalyptic terms Monday, mentioning the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and Pearl Harbor in talking about how his team must rebound like America did from a "catastrophic event."

Very astute post

“I’m proud of the fact that since I’ve become quarterbacks coach and OC, Marcus was a Heisman winner and led the country in passer efficiency,” Frost says. “The next year Vernon [Adams] led the country in passer efficiency, and this past year, McKenzie was second to Baker Mayfield. Our scheme puts QBs in positions to do things well, and [Nebraska quarterbacks coach Mario Verduzco, who was on Frost’s UCF staff] is as good as there is at training them.”

Wrong idiot

Days after watching Alabama Crimson Tide freshman Tua Tagovailoa lead his team to a national championship, new Nebraska football coach Scott Frost balked at the idea of praising Nick Saban for the mid-game change at quarterback.
"It was a decision I don't know I would have been courageous enough to make. That's the answer you want to hear. The other answer is that he was pretty obviously better and they had 12 games to figure that out and didn't," Frost told ESPN's Sam Khan Jr. "Coach Saban is above criticism with everything he's accomplished, so I don't mean it that way, but I recruited Tua out of high school and knew what he could do and it doesn't surprise me that he did what he did. Jalen's a great player, too. That was a very bold and courageous move and I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier [in the season]."
Perhaps Frost simply hoped nobody would notice the irony of his comments.

While the quarterback coach/offensive coordinator in 2014, Frost was part of a Mark Helfrich staff that elected not to offer Tagovailoa a scholarship as a sophomore, despite his heavy interest in the Ducks due to his relationship with, and admiration for, Oregon legend Marcus Mariota.
So focused was Tagovailoa on Oregon that even an in-person visit from then-USC head coach Steve Sarkisian in December 2014 wasn't enough to sway him, according to his father, Galuega.
"To have Sarkisian come out here and actually offer him was a huge deal to me, because he's the head coach at USC," his father said. "To have that, it blew my mind. I told him, 'The head coach of USC came out.' He said, 'Yeah, I know Dad, but I want to go to Oregon. I've always wanted to go to Oregon. Marcus was out there. And I keep telling you, Dad, I know these schools want to offer, but once Oregon offers me, I'm done.' "
The delay led to a communication breakdown that left Tagovailoa confused.
"Sometimes I forget that Oregon has interest in me. Coach Cal (Lee) tells me to call coaches. When I do some coaches don't answer," he said in spring 2015. "I have no clue who I'm calling. Coach Cal gives me their number... but the last time I was in contact with an Oregon guy was (offensive coordinator) Scott Frost when he came down."
It wasn't until approximately 18 months later - after Oregon secured and then lost the commitment of four-star quarterback Ryan Kelley and Tagovailoa committed to Alabama - that Oregon deemed Tagovailoa worthy of a scholarship.
By then, Tagovailoa had soured on the Ducks.
The rest, as was quite apparent Monday, is college football history.
12-game season vs. 18 months? Saban has Frost beat by a full calendar year in the "recognizing Tagovailoa's talent" game.

UM's #1 RB, Higdon, was out on Saturday but he should be good to go next week. Otherwise the entire offense is healthy. Yeah, UM's pass protection has been pretty shaky so that's how to attack their offense. Also, the defense is really strong but they have trouble with mobile QBs so that has me a little worried.
Grizzly Peak, which is a brew pub with really good food, near Main Street was always one of my favorites. Ashley's on State Street was great for their beer selection. I saw that Jolly Pumpkin has a place in Ann Arbor now, which was put in after I graduated but I can say their beer is amazing. Red Hawk, on State Street is a nondescript pub but I loved their food. If you're out later and want a late night shit show, head to Rick's and if you're into old video games or pinball there's a place next door called Pinball Pete's that is a pretty amazing vintage arcade.
Enjoy the game; I wish I was going.
