Can't tell if sarcasm?

It was only the "dark ages" in a relatively small part of the world - western europe. The Eastern Roman empire did very well although it had its ups and downs - was still vibrant and making progress, as did other parts of the world with very religious people.

You could just as well say - Diocletian divide ~276 --> Constantine reorganizes empire and moves East to the more economically productive / wealthy parts + legalizes Christianity 325 --> Christianity becomes Official State religion under Theodosius around 390-ish I think -->

After Christianity is legalized then becomes official state religion, several generations later Eastern Roman Empire (which they just considered the roman empire) reaches its peak under XO Justinian in 560s

Your thesis makes no sense considering the roman empire - particularly in the west - was *already* in deep trouble by mid 3rd century

Dark Ages are real but blaming them on Christianity is low IQ. Demographic collapse, long-term economic stagnation, de-urbanization, and political fragmentation that took centuries to reverse were all critical and not particularly linked to Christianity.

Because of the lack of written record. There were meticulously prepared histories of Greece and Rome that survived but they didn’t do that across Europe and had a tendency to burn the others “Chronicles” when new power came along.
