i taught myself through a random hodgepodge of online resources (youtube, the few e-courses that were available, codecademy, etc.) back in the day and wish something like this was available.
main drawback obviously is the time investment. so probably not for someone with a job supporting a family, etc. |

I don't think that's entirely true. Plenty of people can become useful developers without necessarily wanting to do their own projects. I don't think that's the right way but there seems to be a decent part of the population that works just for money and doesn't care whether or not they enjoy their jobs. 99% of lawyers, for example. hell, i've even had developer jobs i didn't *like* because they were using a shitty stack or CMS. |

If you're just looking for some bullshit $60k/year job, you can probably do just fine on those major recruiting web sites or linkedin. However, don't ever expect to move up or make more. Also, the concept of lateraling really doesn't exist in the tech world. You're basically stuck within 20-30% of whatever salary you start at. |

so basically it doesn't really matter how you find the job you just gotta show niggas you can code better than the other niggas that be applying. craigslist doesn't work anymore but using that was just as random as upwork. |
