Millennials, as a generation, are not, and almost all data points support my premise, not your's, because of factors that are largely out of the millennial's control
they can't save $, they can't afford housing, they can't have kids, they can't afford the education racket...individualizing what I am saying will always produce wildly divergent results, kids from rich families at HUG will be OK and you'll surely find a poor kid who rises above the rest
but on a generational level, millennials *will* fail to achieve the American Dream, and that's really fucking sad |

the "housing is too expensive," "kids are too expensive," etc. complaints are *always* skewed by expensive regions / bougie people aspiring to expensive regions. yeah it's expensive to raise a family in nyc or ct, not so much in idaho, but the whiny bitches on urbanbaby don't think in those terms. and working in places like idaho will become a more realistic option as the world embraces telework. pensions are failing but people shouldn't be "making it" via pensions anyways. boomers did live in a particularly lucrative america but all things considered so do you. |
