He has to burn it all down and build it back up brick by brick. Bench seniors who aren't producing and let younger players develop this year. He needs to be scouring the country for Juco/Grad transfer OL and CBs.
Also, they framed giving a bunch of B-B+ assistants $5 million in comp as "loyalty", but there is a reason Florida wasn't going to be cool with him doing that there. He was the hottest coach in CFB and could have hired a practically any assistant coaches he wanted, but he chose to reward his friends. He should have kept the majority for continuity, but selectively upgraded in some key areas. He is gonna have to get rid of some weak links in a couple years if things don't improve. |
