Do you remember what things look like when you were?

vividly. the memories are almost as strong as ones from only a couple years ago.
which is why i KNOW that my life actually sucks now and that i'm not just mis-remembering things and looking back through rose-colored glasses.

yeah i mean, that's a common psychological explanation for it. there's probably some truth there.
but there are some things that i know i haven't done in a long time. i can remember actually racing out of bed to greet the day multiple times as a kid/teen. i haven't done that in forever. now i just wake up and think "alright, what kind of bullshit do i have to take care of until i can briefly relax before doing it all over again?".
i don't hate life but i'm almost never excited to wake up.
