The bassist had at least a dozen picks clipped onto his mic stand in a long row. He'd play with his fingers, then grab a pick, start playing with the pick and then throw the pick into the well separating the band from the fans.

I got his attention when he was about to throw out a pick and signaled that I wanted it and he tossed it to me. It landed near me in the middle of a sea of people. I had a tiny flashlight on my keys and found it on the ground.

They bore me now.
