They are effectively reusable and smarter cruise missiles.
Since the advent of drone warfare the INF was doomed.
Now what the US itself expects to get from this itself is less clear. Russia and China are gigantic missile factories masquerading as countries. There is exactly zero chance of the US out producing Russia or China in a missile race or for that matter a drone race. China is by far the largest drone maker on earth. They already have twice as many drones as the US in service. This includes MALE class and the truth is their drones are better in all but the super heavy class and even there the gap is basically nothing at this point. |
