Retiring early is about more than just being able to make the numbers work. You need to have a plan for what you're going to do with your time.
My dad retired in his 40's and his brother retired in his 30's. Both are profoundly unhappy people and retiring early was probably the dumbest thing the both of them did.
You clearly derive a lot of happiness from making money. It's as plain as day in your poasting. How exactly do you think you're going to feel when you're no longer actively doing that, but instead are simply staring at a large pile of money that you have to manage wisely for decades?

We anticipate being 100% work optional in 3-4 years.
- mid'40s by then
- one kid
- we want to have between $5-10mm liquid
- real estate between $3-4mm (already have this). if fully rented out, can produce $100k+ of rental income net of taxes and insurance.
- 401k's growing by then to around $1mm.
- no debt (just have about $1mm remaining on all mortgages)
So, net worth between $10-15mm w/ at minimum 50% available and no debt. One of the two IPOs I plan on has potential to pop way beyond what my conservative calculation is, so that could vault us deep into 8 figures.
Not sure where we'll land, but we definitely will hie out the fuck from Norcal. Under consideration is moving to a low population western state for QOL + less competition for kid in school. Another is move overseas and send the kid of an expat "american" school.

I own 100's of thousands (already exercised / paid taxes on one, currently vesting in another) of shares of two companies that will IPO in the next 3 years max. One of the two has really huge valuation potential so could have a huge bump.
If I wanted to sell today, would get between $2-2.5mm from ibanks and venture firms that buy pre-IPO shares for company #1's shares. Not selling because it'll IPO easily 2x that current price and could potentially go way beyond that. My one lottery ticket for deep into 8 figure net worth so I'm going to hold it and see what unfolds.
Already did my 20's in Austin. It's definitely a fun down, not so sure I want to live there again. Considering a variety of other western states if remaining in the US.

IF YOUR WIFE IS PROVIDING CASHFLOW THEN YOU CAN RETIRE NOW.
EVEN IF YOU LEAVE YOUR WIFE AND YOUR KIDS, YOU CAN RETIRE NOW.
YOU CAN ALWAYS RETIRE.
REMEMBER: THERE ARE WAYS TO RETIRE. YOU DON'T EVEN WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THEM. BUT THERE ARE WAYS.
