The ethereum developers clearly got fat and happy off the bull run. The hope is that the recent troubles motivate them to get back to work. Delaying the issuance reduction to January after a stumble in November was a huge error that a lot of people rightfully raked them over the coals for. I don't think we will see delays of this length in the future |

Apply that same reasoning thrice over to all the other sharding megashitcoins: quarkchain, multivac, near protocol, etc., not to mention other sharding shitcoins like algorand, solana, and spacemesh, all of which are even further away from shipping an actual product.
Ostensible technical superiority over an asset that is itself headed to 0 means very little. That Zilliqa addresses two of the more pressing problems hampering adoption or Ethereum—throughput and DAO-type hacks—is ultimately meaningless if there is no non-speculative value to such an asset in the first place. |

A useful proof of concept and platform for future development, but impractical for widespread commercial use.
Zilliqa is the equivalent of a shitty DSL ISP. The additional throughput is a game changer, and I rethink it is reasonable to assume Dong & Co. are developing the current protocol with future sharding development in mind. Obviously, this wasn’t done with Ethereum.
And sharding on a legit PoW chain is a big deal. dPoS is shit. All the drawbacks of centralized servers at 100x the price and .0001 the performance. |

It would be disingenuous however to ignore the possibility that e.g. there is no enterprise need for public blockchains now or ever. This is a contingency which Vitalik himself has considered, and that is why zk-SNARKs are on the roadmap for the ever-dallying Ethereum dev team.
